EUSA Pharma, a transatlantic specialty pharmaceutical company focused on oncology, pain control and critical care, has out-licensed the exclusive worldwide rights to its preclinical stage human anti-interleukin-6 antibody to GSK for a consideration of up to $44 million, comprising an upfront fee and development milestones, plus royalties on future sales.
In 2005, Innocoll acquired the worldwide marketing rights for this product from Essex Chemis AG, an affiliated company of Schering-Plough Corporation and in August 2007 sold its marketing rights, with the exception of the US, to EUSA Pharma.
