Army historian Jeffrey Smart has spent the past 22 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground, formerly the Edgewood Arsenal, where many of the chemical tests - particularly on protective equipment - were conducted.
Formerly MATCOM Federal Credit Union, Freedom was founded in 1953 serving the needs of military and civilians associated with the Material Command and then the Edgewood Arsenal, affiliated with Aberdeen Proving Ground.
