The new method combines two different ionic dissociation methods, collision induced dissociation (CID) and electron capture dissociation (ECD), to analyze proteins thoroughly by quickly switching the dissociation methods.
Additionally, the solariX offers the most versatile suite of tools for fragmenting biopolymers, including Collision Induced Dissociation (CID), either in the front-end collision cell and/or in the ICR cell, as well as Electron Capture Dissociation (ECD) in the ICR cell, and now even front-end Electron Transfer Dissociation (ETD).
Besides the novel Continuous Accumulation of Selected Ions (CASI[TM]) which allows researchers to selectively enrich the signal from a protein or one of its large multiply charged fragments, the Bruker FTMS also includes external collision-cell or internal ICR cell Collision Induced Dissociation (CID), as well as Electron Capture Dissociation (ECD) in the ICR cell.
