An aircraft can be designed with an electronic flight control system that gives the pilot a positive, stable, handling-qualities feel while the aircraft is unstable (Baer & Landy, 1987). The new computers are major components of the C-17 Globemaster III Electronic Flight Control System, on which Platform Solutions is the subsystem integrator. BAE Systems has delivered two sets of the electronic flight control system that includes quad flight control computers, aircraft transducer units, magnetic azimuth detectors, air temperature sensors, integrated multifunctional probes, and pilot interface transducers. |
