Among the GSA initiatives is the USB Workgroup, which is working to define the use of USB for internal communication between the processing unit of an electronic gaming device and its peripheral equipment, such as bill validators, ticket printers, card readers and other human interface devices. Under the agreement, Citrix has granted New Millennium the right to use the ICA technology to dynamically deliver its gaming software, currently under development, to slot machines and other electronic gaming devices found in hotel casinos, cruise ships as well as over the Internet. Currently there are an estimated 50,000 electronic gaming devices operating in the American Indian marketplace, a figure that is expected to double by the year 2000. |
