Epidermal growth factor is required by many cancer cells.
It appears to do this by damping down the activity of a cellular network called the epidermal growth factor (EGF) pathway.
Purpose: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) stimulates proliferation, and been shown to be overexpressed in many cancers.
