Limited has declared that they will fully comply with the European Copyright Directive, which was implemented in the UK on October 31, 2003. In addition to its technical effectiveness and widespread hardware compliance programs, Macrovision's technology is supported by law under the auspices of the recently introduced European Copyright Directive, as copy protection circumvention devices or technology are illegal under the law. The European Copyright Directive is in the process of passing through the statutory bodies of each member country and became law in the UK on 31 October 2003. |
