An event data recorder is an electronic device that tracks information during an accident and records information for a few seconds of time before, during and after the vehicle collision. The devices, called event data recorders by federal transportation officials, have been likened to airline flight data recorders, or ``black boxes. which includes air, rail, marine and pipeline transport, without an adequate event data recorder standard. |
