The data in their Table 2 demonstrate that swimming pool attendance was associated with the prevalence of an elevated exhaled nitric oxide (eNO); neither doctor-diagnosed asthma nor total asthma was significantly related to swimming pool attendance unless combined with eNO measures. Increased levels of exhaled nitric oxide during nasal and oral breathing in subjects with seasonal rhinitis. Novel biomarkers in pulmonary diseases: procalcitonin (respiratory tract infection), fractional exhaled nitric oxide (obstructive lung disease), EGFR mutations and RXR-beta (non-small-cell lung cancer). |
