A NATO spokeswoman, Lt Col Maria Carl, confirmed that the type of bomb, called an explosively formed projectile, or a shaped charge, was found in Kabul in May. The operation came in a raid, one in a series aimed at stopping the flow of explosively formed projectiles (EFPs), into Iraq, said US military spokesman Lt Col Christopher Garver, with 16 detained in Sadr City. The Americans, who have accused Iran of supplying Shi'ite militias, including Sadr's, with an especially deadly roadside bomb known as an explosively formed projectile (EFP), which has killed an increasing number of US soldiers. |
