FAVR Allowances Business-related expenses incurred by an employee in driving his or her owned or leased automobile are deemed substantiated under a qualified plan when the employer reimburses the expenses with a qualifying fixed and variable rate (FAVR) allowance.
For 1993, the FAVR allowance can be based on the costs associated with a standard auto that costs no more than $23,900 (up from $22,500).
