Samples for TEM analyses of the EVA-based nanocomposites were prepared with a Reichert Jung Ultracut 3E, FC4E ultracryomicrotome cutting at -130[degrees]C to obtain 70-80-nm thick slices. A Reichert-Jung Ultracut E FC4E cryo-ultramicrotome with a diamond knife was used to cut approximately 50 X 50 [micro]m sections transverse to the flow direction. Ultrathin sections of the composites with a thickness of approximately 80 nm were accordingly cut at -130[degrees]C from the 3-mm-thick plates by using a Reichert-Jung Ultracut 3E, FC4E ultra-cryomicrotome equipped with a diamond knife. |
