We are grateful to Oregon's Family Health Insurance Assistance Program for helping us pay premiums, but we have been in and out of FHIAP, depending on our income. Only one-third of OHP children and one-half of FHIAP children (whose parents were better educated and possibly had more access to job-related insurance) had insurance coverage after leaving these programs. Then enact the FHIAP model to make health care affordable to all. |
