Not wanting to limit herself to researching one side of the conflict, Jones chose two primary venues for her research: Gorazde, now in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Foca, now in the Republika Srpska. Americans can show their support for FOCA by participating in the Match for Women's Lives on April 25. In February the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia issued a landmark verdict that found that the enslavement of women and girls in the Bosnian town of Foca for the purpose of continuous rape rose to the level of crimes against humanity. |
