The editor has produced FOOC ("as we call it") for a dozen years and he emphasises how much the journalists appreciate the chance to write at relative length and to fill in characters, background and history.
And this book, containing dispatches from all around the world, shows why FOOC, as it is affectionately known, has become such a well-known and much-loved institution.
I must confess, despite being fascinated with foreign news journalists, I have only recently come to learn about the phenomenon that is affectionately known as FOOC.
