While Christensen's argument is more complicated--the book has 230 pages--the basic argument is pretty clear: OI automates, in the classic sense of that term, the FTF model. Cynics say that rather than worrying about corruption, the FTF merely wanted a hefty slice from the sports betting pie, and the concern in the industry is that British sports, emboldened by events in Paris, could soon press the government for a levy. More than anything else, though, the over-riding aim of FTF is to cut costs to the bone by breaking the current farm supply mould. |
