Narmada Timsina was crossing the five-lane highway, near her apartment complex in the 22400 block of Highway 515, when she was struck by a fast-moving vehicle, said Trooper Dan McDonald of the State Patrol. This is not only a problem for car drivers, who risk a collision when they are legitimately changing lanes, but also to pedestrians who don't expect to see a fast-moving vehicle making its way between cars as they are crossing a road. Fast-moving vehicles and fully-loaded heavy trucks and sanders from the county roads department barn on the road often failed to negotiate the curves without swerving into oncoming traffic, she said. |
