The light echoes create the illusion of a halo of dust expanding faster than light, but the dust isn't actually moving. Great quotes are interspersed throughout the text ("Nothing travels faster than light, with the possible exception of bad news"--Douglas Adams); however, there are no illustrations or pictures. Einstein's principle that no signals can move faster than light implies that separated events in the universe--even those an atomic diameter apart--cannot be simultaneously connected. |
