Another major source of funding is the Federal Work Study Program.
In the beginning, the majority of the students participating in the mathematics training had upper-division standing and were drawn from across the university under the Federal Work Study Program (2004).
Of the total financial aid doled out to CSUN students in 1996-97, 60 percent came from federal loans, 21 percent in federal grants, 15 percent from state grants, 2 percent from athletic grants, 1 percent from federal work study and 1 percent from scholarships.
