Byline: ANI Washington, Aug 11 (ANI): Researchers from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine have found that low levels of protein required for maintaining constant contact between brain neurons might cause schizophrenia.
Stamler, professor emeritus of the Department of Preventive Medicine in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill, said that glutamic acid is the most common amino acid and accounts for almost a quarter (23%) of the protein in vegetable protein and almost one fifth (18%) of animal protein.
Richard Burt of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and colleagues said the process, which involves injecting people with stem cells made from their own bone marrow cells, appears to have a lasting effect, Reuters reported.
