Offering throughput speeds of up to 100 Mbps both downstream and upstream, this high-end gateway is designed for ultra-broadband VDSL2 delivery to multiple dwelling units or to single-family homes in environments where providers are laying fiber to the curb with VDSL to the house. This is because the demand for optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs) is increasing largely with the growing uptake of high definition television (HDTV), Internet protocol-based television (IPTV), fiber to the curb, home, and premise (FTTx) as well as other fiber-optic based technologies. We have divided the available technologies into three categories, based on how deeply the fiber component penetrates the network: fiber to the node, fiber to the curb, and fiber to the home. |
