The Aolos-289 programme covers the conversion of the onboard computer flight software on a start-up batch of 160 CL-289 unmanned aerial vehicles--under an original 27 million [euro] contract that has been adapted to include orders valued now at 63 million [euro]. This allows the military to replace obsolete computers with faster commercial systems, continue use of old software such as existing operational flight software without change, and incrementally improve hardware and software to support new and modified capabilities. |
