Students can take the test, which assesses students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, annually until they are reclassified as fluent English proficient. There are four categories of language fluency: Fluent English Proficient (FEP), Redesignated Fluent English Proficient (RFEP), Limited English Proficient (LEP), and English Only. Students tested at Castaic Middle School performed at or above the intermediate level, which, according to the state's initial assessment, labels the 130 students ``possible fluent English proficient. |
