Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced recently.
The safety of meat, poultry, and eggs are the responsibility of USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer said in a statement that the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service has evidence that the meat packing company ''did not consistently contact the FSIS public health veterinarian in situations in which cattle became non-ambulatory after passing ante-mortem inspection.
