GGC spending on food imports is set to more than double from $24 billion in 2008 to $49 billion by 2020, said a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The paper reported that the foreign ministers of the six GGC countries--Oman, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia--will head to Istanbul to participate in the meeting. That was the message from the GGC Council Secretariat General and monetary union head Dr Salim Al Gudhea to delegates at the conference yesterday. |
