Taking place over the weekend of October 11-12, the GWR Steam and Vintage Rally has abundant attractions for all the family. Attractions included a line-up of Great Western Railway steam engines, three GWR Castles, up to three GWR Halls and four GWR pannier tanks. In the black-out, as Michael did the rounds on a motorbike, checking every bin was alight, he took a wrong turning near the GWR goods yard in Davis Street and went into the double doors and was taken to hospital, recovering in time to take the smoke-screen unit to France with the D-Day landings. |
