Brussels (dpa) - At first glance, it seems like a chemistry
experiment gone wrong: a 25-centimetre glass tube with a flared top
and bulbous bottom, clasped in a wooden clamp and oozing coffee-
coloured foam. The heating element is constructed from 30,000 interwoven carbon wires and placed into a quartz glass tube which can heat up from 0 to 1000 degrees Celsius in 3 seconds. Such configurations consisted of an outer glass tube and inner acrylic glass. |
