Called for by rail bosses for several years, the project involves the Great Western main line between London and Swansea and the route between Manchester and Liverpool.
In the past I have pressed hard for the electrification of the Great Western Main Line between Paddington and Swansea and for new high-speed rail links between Wales and London.
The hub, at Old Oak Common rail depot, would also connect with the Heathrow Express and the Great Western Main Line.
