There were 34,678 newly qualified teachers in England in 2007 but, by the end of this March, 33% of them were not working as teachers, the GTCE report , the figures show. A spokeswoman for the GTCE said: ``The committee decided to issue Mr Parkinson with a conditional registration order to last for five years. The GTCE has expressed concerns that it has judged only 46 registered teachers "incompetent" since it was established because local authorities have not been referring teachers to it. |
