Our AEBs also employ manned, modernized guardrail common sensor and airborne reconnaissance low fixedwing systems for layered multisensor collection coverage.
The aerial common sensor was until 2006 a joint Army-Navy program designed to replace three reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft--the Army's airborne reconnaissance-low and Guardrail common sensor along with the Navy's EP3 Aries fleet.
The ACS initiative will merge and improve the capabilities of the Army's Guardrail Common Sensor and Airborne Reconnaissance Low systems into a single multifunction platform, and eventually replace those legacy airborne ISR systems.
