Over the past 5 years, the HAIC activity has become a national public health resource for data on urgent and emerging infectious diseases related to health care.
HAIC activity projects are divided into 2 major categories: 1) pathogen-specific, population- and laboratory-based surveillance (for which 2 projects predated the formation of the HAIC activity); and 2) epidemiologic innovations.
The third HAIC activity surveillance project targets multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacilli (MDR GNB).

The members gave their feed-back raising key issues relating to HAIC
commitment to international covenants, the development of the media role, in addition to the processing of complaints relating to e-Content.
At the beginning of the meeting, HM the King's Personal Representative expressed his pride in the Royal Order issued by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa that stipulates the formation of the HAIC, through which, HM the King seeks pushing the information and communication sector and supporting its independence to keep pace with the development achievements witnessed in the Kingdom of Bahrain in light of openness, democracy and sustainable development that HM the King's has established its principles through the reform project.
He congratulated the members on the royal confidence vested in them by the wise leadership to serve the country and protect its unity as members of the HAIC.
HAIC's Deputy Chairman and members expressed gratitude and appreciation to HM the King's Royal Order that stipulates the formation of the HAIC and the Royal confidence vested in them, stressing keenness to exert maximum efforts to achieve the HAIC's objectives.
