THF-diols and LTXdiols are derived from linoleic acid pathways that generate HODEs and HETEs. Radar tracking revealed that the craft had reached orbit but that the rocket's third stage had failed to separate, leaving HETE permanently trapped in a cagelike enclosure between the Argentinean instrument and the third-stage fuselage. HETE carries a detector that can monitor the X-ray component of the bursts, as well as four ultraviolet cameras that will scan the sky whenever a burst appears. |
