The Health Careers Opportunity Program is a federal program designed to recruit and assist disadvantaged students, many of them minorities, in the medical field.
The CBC seeks to restore funding for the Health Careers Opportunity Program, which encourages schoolchildren to study sciences to become doctors, nurses, and technicians.
Over a five-year period, the grant will be used to fund the university's Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP).
