Food safety is a priority action area in the national health promotion and disease prevention objectives set forth in Healthy People 2000 and Healthy People 2010. Fruth et al (7) observed the prevalence of health promotion and disease prevention statements made by physical therapists within 96 physical therapy sessions based on 6 categories from Eberst's Multidimensional Model of Health: physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and vocational,s Within each of the 6 categories, Fruth and colleagues established subcategories. One of ASA's special projects, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is titled Live Well, Live Long: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for Older Adults. |
