Support for a briefing paper and endorsement by Area Health Service Executive of an area policy--APAT and care plan, facilitated the roll out and implementation of the Tool in all medical and surgical wards (with the exception of Port Macquarie Base Hospital) of the NCAHS by I May 2006. This provided for the establishment of the Health Service Executive on a statutory basis from 1st January 2005 and provides for the abolition of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the other health boards. The INO has called for the immediate implementation of the 10 point plan agreed with the Minister for Health Mary Harney in March, but the Health Service Executive (HSE) has defended the progress of its 70m [pounds sterling] package to reduce pressure on accident and emergency units. |
