The Australian Health Care Reform Alliance (the ANF is a member of the AHCRA executive) has an active plan underway to conduct a series of national forums and a national health reform summit in Canberra in July. Wong argues that the incremental nature of Korea's health care reform was because of the immediacy of elections, fragmented politics with high political uncertainty, and the nature of democratic breakthrough following tough confrontations. Give the process a decade or two, and millions of citizens who might vote for health care reform will be barred not only from meaningful participation in the health care debate but from the entire American political process. |
