National Public Health Week events helped raise local awareness of public health's critical role in ensuring a healthy region and also promoted the importance of healthy eating and active living.
The HEAL action plan identifies priorities and recommends health-related programs for businesses that include: employee incentives for engaging in activities that lead to healthy lifestyles; providing discount worksite wellness services; incorporating healthy food choices in cafeteria and catering offerings; and educating employees about healthy eating and active living.
