WASHINGTON -- Insert after last graph of release: In addition to meeting with the Jordanian ambassador, the USW and Kernighan met over the last two days with the Helsinki Commission, a bipartisan commission established by Congress to deal with human trafficking issues, the United States Trade Ambassador's office and the State Department. He also chaired the Helsinki Commission, which monitored human rights violations in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, meeting with heads of state and monitoring elections in newly emerging democracies. |
