Scientists might next use high-resolution radar observations from satellites to more definitively link BrO plumes to patches of ice covered with frost flowers. The original specification for this high-resolution radar was very demanding, and intended to give the modernised aircraft an ability to fly attack mission in all weathers, delivering smart weapons. On the same mission, the multi-sensor suite returns color video imagery in daylight, infrared imagery at night and high-resolution radar imagery through thick cloud, day or night. |
