A tri-axial sensor detects angular displacements of the target which enables the fire control unit to present the gunner with a corrected aiming point that takes target motion into account, thus providing a very high single-shot hit probability. The system offers the latest in night-sight technology, featuring an IR camera, and is gyrostabilized with an independent sight line, ensuring high hit probability against all types of target. At the same time, we think that employment of IR signature reducing aids will cause one and a half to two times reduction of detection range of the ground-based AME and will increase aircraft hit probability by low altitude SAMs. |
