Set up by former Korova worker Natalie Haywood as a "punk cafe", Leaf occupies two stories in a Grade IIlisted warehouse and it's cheek-by-jowl with the rehearsal rooms used by The Zutons, The Rascals and Hot Club de Paris.
They share the venue with Elevator Studios, home to The Zutons, The Wombats and Hot Club de Paris.
Described as a mixture of Fugazi, Hot Club De Paris and Gentle Giant, the trio feature members and ex-members of many a North-east band including Alsatian, Projects, Ask My Cat, The New Lev Yashin, Jinn, Kubichek and Helios but sound absolutely nothing like any of them.
