Earlier, on 18 November 2009, the US House of Representatives adopted unanimously House Resolution 890 to commend the maturing of India-US relations and to welcome Prime Minister to the United States.
On June 1, lawyer Lozano and Evangeline Lozano-Endriano called for the nullification of the House resolution on Charter change because it was aimed at extending beyond 2010 the term of President Gloria Arroyo.
The House resolution was backed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- a longtime advocate for human rights in China, particularly Tibet, who surprised observers last week with her mild tone during a visit to China to discuss climate change.
