Perhaps the most widely known example of the conservation of these genes is that of the Hox gene complex. I am now wondering whether it might also tie in to the Hox gene. Mice, it turns out, have 4 clusters of Hox genes, which are laid out in the same head-to-tail way as they are in the fruit fly. |
