8, 1998-- Data Presented at the 40th Annual American Society of Hematology Meeting ImClone Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:IMCL) today is presenting preclinical data demonstrating that monoclonal antibodies which are highly specific inhibitors of human vascular endothelial cell growth factor VEGF receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) can prevent the growth of blood vessels in an in vitro model of AIDS-associated Kaposi's sarcoma (KS).
