The project calls for construction of a 37,000 b/d hydrocracker and a 42,000 b/d sulphur hydrocracker unit and revamping of an existing gasoil hydrotreater.
NYSE: SGR) today announced that its Shaw Stone & Webster business unit has been awarded an engineering and procurement contract by Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO), for a 70,000 barrels per day (bpd) heavy gas oil hydrocracker unit and 47,000 bpd kerosene hydrotreater unit.
But a new 44,000 b/d hydrocracker unit was closed in mid-2000, less than two months after it came on stream, and could not begin work until recently.
