Dr Joseph told ICRF president John Iype to auction off a bouquet of flowers presented to him at the event to raise funds for the organisation and a further BD125 was collected.
Speakers at the event alongside the ambassador were, chairman of the ICRF and Co-ordination Committee of Indian Associations Dr P V Cheriyan, ICRF general secretary C R Nambiar and Indian Club president Mohan Josiah.
While at Oxford, he was closely involved in the establishment of research laboratories for ICRF ( now Cancer Research UK ( at the Institute of Molecular Medicine.
