Since IDWD measured post-release employment among offenders by quarter in a given year, the researchers examined the employment sustainability by calculating the number of quarters that offenders had been employed since they were released from prison in 2005.
IDWD used the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) to track post-release employment among offenders who were released from prison.
With the employment data provided by IDWD, the present researchers analyzed post-release employment based on income, length of employment and the job sector in which the individual was employed.
IDWD implemented the Thunderhead NOW platform, in tandem with the IBM FileNet P8 platform for automated workflow and document retrieval, as part of an integrated solution based on Tier Technology's UIConnect integrated solution for unemployment insurance benefits, tax and appeals.
Using the multi-channel capabilities of Thunderhead NOW, IDWD was able to eliminate more than one million printed notices, many of which were converted to XML-based documents for electronic delivery," said Tim Peterson, vice president, Tier Technologies.
