The founding of the IJM allowed Haugen and his associates to apply the ethic of Jesus to all they did. He also happens to run the plantation arm of the IJM Group, which means he grows oil palm trees and extracts the oil from their fruit. I had worked for three years with friends on the idea of IJM and was very excited, in theory, about this dream of following Jesus in the work of justice in the world. |
