INRA and ICARDA have organized several workshops in the municipalities of Ouled Zmam and Bradia to introduce the project to local farmers.
Aquitaine is thus asserting its ambition to become one of the European regions with the highest scientific potential in the optics sector: an innovative industrial fabric, an efficient R&D cluster supported by universities, the CEA, the CNRS (French National Scientific Research Centre), the INSERM (French National Health and Medical Research Institute) and the INRA (French National Agronomic Research Institute), as well as acknowledged competences in advanced teaching and ongoing training.
The remaining sectors will be supervised by existing agencies: 1NSERM will take over health research, INRA will oversee agriculture and veterinary sciences, and INRIA will be in charge of computing research.
