These five databases were supplemented with demonstrations of subject-specific databases such as EconLit for the Economics Research Refresher, Engineering Index and INSPEC for Computer Information Systems, and PAIS International for the School of Urban and Public Affairs. He has also tested it by querying and retrieving citations-in English or Japanese-from INSPEC, a British bibliographic database covering texts on physics, electronics, and computing. In our system, we need to guide the provider of a document in choosing the appropriate subject hierarchy from a controlled hierarchy (we use a hierarchy derived from ACM, INSPEC, and the Library of Congress Subject Headings [LCSH]). |
